This picture shows Aer Lingus flight EI883 from Málaga using the airbridge.
EI-DVK using Cork's only airbridge at Stand 9.
Cork Airport's current terminal opened in August 2006. This shows Cork Airport's Terminal.
Cork Airport has 20 aircraft parking stands. Infront of the terminal building the four stands have fixtures for airbridges, unfortunately when terminal was being constructed Ryanair refused to use them if they were constructed so therefore they would be lying there and would be a waste of money. Therefore out of the four fixtures only one was constructed. Much of the time it is lying there and it is really only Aer Lingus and charter airlines use it if they park at that stand at all. Ryanair have parked at Stand 9 many times but don't connect to their aircraft to the bridge, stating it delays turn around times and costs too much, as they don't want their passengers paying alot. REALLY: Says the airline who charge €90 for checked in baggage, that can't be 0.01kg over 20kg. That is ridiculous. Use of the airbridge only costs €3.75 per 15minutes in use. |
