Transatlantic Services from Cork

Well will we ever see the day that a flight will depart Cork for New York. Hopefully, but it's looking unlikely that it will happen any time soon. Cork needs transatlantic services because there are a number of US business have their EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Asia) headquaters here, and with no flight to Dublin or Shannon, it is proving them very difficult to organise transport to Dublin or Shannon. A flight to New York with a Boeing 757 or Airbus A330 is the aim. But this is looking very doubtful because the airlines that are interested are saying the runway is too short for the 757. That infact is 100% rubbish as Boeing 757's, operate to Lourdes, and Monarch used to operate to Faro also. This picture shows a 757 about to take off at Runway 17, Cork.
